Gordon Borrell and Mike Blinder to Keynote ADP’s 2014 Annual Convention and Partners Trade Show
Traverse City, MI (PRWEB) January 22, 2014 -- The Association of Directory Publishers (ADP) is gathering the Yellow Pages and local search community March 16-18, in Fort Worth, Texas, for ADP’s 2014 Annual Convention and Partners Trade Show. The theme for this year’s event is “The Power of Us,” and it features keynotes by two local media industry leaders, Gordon Borrell, CEO and founder of Borrell Associates, and Mike Blinder, president of The Blinder Group.
Blinder, the sought-after sales training and revenue generation consultant to the global newspaper industry, will deliver the Monday keynote titled, “Protecting Your SMBs from Pesky Competitors.” Blinder will share his insights with attendees on how new competition is targeting and closing business deals, grabbing market share and ad dollars from radio, cable, broadcast TV and Yellow Pages.
During the Tuesday keynote, leading advertising analyst, Gordon Borrell, CEO, Borrell Associates, will discuss “The Power of Morphing: Why Local Media Always Survives." Borrell will offer a fascinating look at how today’s digitally oriented landscape is forcing many media companies to change. He sees two paths ahead for ADP members: one where print directories survive and one where they can thrive.
“We are very excited about the program for this year’s convention, as it truly represents the energy, innovation and opportunities that exist across the Yellow Pages industry today,” said Cindi Aldrich, president, Association of Directory Publishers. “I am confident attendees will come away from this event with great new ideas that draw upon their own strengths and the inherent power of the industry, as well as new connections that will help them advance their business.”
The 2014 program features 20-plus speakers and 15 sessions covering topics such as competition in the local media marketplace, the latest sales strategies and best practices, integrating mobile, social, and online solutions, and leveraging the power of print Yellow Pages.
2014 Gold Book Awards
The conference also includes ADP’s annual Gold Book Awards, honoring publisher and partner members for outstanding directory products and marketing innovations in the Yellow Pages industry. Entries are judged during the convention by a jury of peers and industry experts, with winners announced during the Gold Book Awards Dinner on Tuesday, March 18. Following this year’s dinner, a Gold After-Party celebrating the winners will feature entertainment by actor and country music singer John Corbett, best known for roles in Sex and the City, Northern Exposure and My Big Fat Greek Wedding.
