GOTRAX™ Donates HOVERFLY PLUS Hoverboard to Skinner Middle School Fall Festival, Interviewed by School Paper
DENVER (PRWEB) October 20, 2017 -- Denver-based consumer electronics startup GOTRAX™ has responded to a request for a product donation by Skinner Middle School for its 8th Annual Fall Festival fundraiser to be held Saturday, October 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. GOTRAX™ donated its HOVERFLY PLUS hoverboard for the silent auction, and recently visited the school to be interviewed by the Skinner Citizen, the school’s student newspaper.
“The students wanted to offer a 'huge' prize at the Fall Festival and kept coming back to the idea of a hoverboard. They researched different companies and found GOTRAX™ and were excited that they are located in Denver,” says Joshua Duran, dean. “It meant so much to all involved that a company would provide such an awesome experience. The kids counted down the days until the interview and kept rewriting their questions. GOTRAX™ is an amazing company and made the students feel like the journalists that they are.”
Located in Denver’s Berkeley neighborhood, Skinner houses 6th through 8th grades, and the annual Fall Festival is open to the public and features food, games, prizes and a silent auction that benefits students’ clubs and activities, including the Skinner Citizen.
Duran’s school newspaper class contacted GOTRAX™ for the donation, and arranged an interview with the Denver-based brand after seeing news of its launch shared online. GOTRAX™ Chief Marketing Officer Jason Wakefield met with the class last week and was interviewed on topics including what it takes to launch a new brand, why Denver is a great location for a startup and what makes hoverboards so much fun.
“These kids are incredibly sharp,” says Wakefield. “They were very well prepared and their questions were on point. It’s clear they did their homework on the product, the industry and GOTRAX™.”
GOTRAX™ recently launched its science-inspired line of HOVERFLY hoverboards, the HOVERFLY and HOVERFLY PLUS, UL certified self-balancing scooters that allow users to accelerate, stop and steer with a simple shift in body weight using advanced gyroscopic technology to provide the “weightless” feeling of hovering.
The hoverboards are just the beginning of a line of electric rideables and accessories the brand says will become increasingly innovative as they are released, accompanied by science and space-themed branding designed to encourage a sense of learning and discovery for children.
