Governor O’Malley Promotes Maryland’s Outstanding Educational Resources in Brazil
Lanham, Maryland (PRWEB) December 16, 2013 -- Dr. Heather R. Harding, CEO of AESI, joined Governor Martin O’Malley on a seven-day business trade mission to São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In conjunction, with Prince George’s County Executive, Rushern L. Baker III, the Maryland delegation of more than 30 state officials, business leaders, and educational leaders met with key stakeholders to strengthen economic and cultural ties between Maryland and South America.
Governor O’Malley and the delegation held various forums with top officials, and potential business and investment partners, in order to facilitate an international dialogue supporting the use of public-private partnerships, and to maximize Maryland’s outstanding education resources (including eleven campuses of the University System of Maryland as well as Johns Hopkins University). The Governor focused on the need to conduct bilateral education, training, and other activities on public-private partnerships, in order to strengthen educational programs and further meet the economic needs of the public.
