Grand Image, Inc. Visits VIBCO Factory
Hudson, MA (PRWEB) April 22, 2015 -- Eli and Tamir Luria of Grand Image, Inc., the Hudson, MA based grand and large format printing company, visited the VIBCO factory in Wyoming, RI this past March. The purpose of the visit was to learn more about how VIBCO has successfully integrated lean manufacturing as an essential part of their operations.
VIBCO manufactures pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric vibrators for asphalt, concrete, food, chemical, pharmaceutical, agriculture, and more. Lean is a manufacturing principle focused on streamlining production systems as a method of eliminating waste and maximizing customer value. According to Lean’s website, “…lean thinking changes the focus of management from optimizing separate technologies, assets, and vertical departments to optimizing the flow of products and services through entire value streams that flow horizontally across technologies, assets, and departments to customers.”
The Grand Image, Inc. team visited VIBCO as part of their Expanding Opportunities program, to gain insight into their implementation of lean manufacturing to evaluate tactics that may be suitable for application in Grand Image, Inc.’s own production processes.
