Graphic Label Announces New $5,000 Scholarship for Perry Technical Institute
YAKIMA, Wash. (PRWEB) August 11, 2016 -- Graphic Label LLC today announced a new $5,000 Graphic Label Scholarship to support Perry Technical Institute students pursuing technical training.
Graphic Label (GLI) is funding the new scholarship as part of its expanded commitment to the Yakima community following OneAccord Capital’s acquisition of the company, which was announced August 3, 2016. That commitment, along with a long-term strategic plan for GLI that envisions growing revenues and profits, creating new jobs and mentoring next-generation leadership, is central to how OneAccord applies stewardship principles to managing the companies it buys.
“Graphic Label plans to hire new people right here in Yakima as we grow our business throughout the Pacific Northwest and beyond,” said Max Clough, chief executive officer of Graphic Label LLC. “We’ve had great success hiring Perry Tech graduates, and we know that great educational institutions are key to the health of any community. We’re proud to be able to offer our support.”
The Perry Technical Institute Foundation will supervise the fund, which the school will award to two students in the amount of $2,500 each. Students in the following three programs are eligible: Instrumentation & Industrial Automation, Electrical Technology, and Information Technology & Communication Systems. The Foundation will make award decisions based on an assessment of grades, attendance and work ethic, and the school will give preference to veterans.
“Throughout our history, Perry has focused on providing industry with employees that have the right combination of technical skills and positive work habits,” said Christine Coté, president of Perry Technical Institute. “Our success is built on the support and involvement of industry partners. We are honored to work with Graphic Label to expand the scholarship opportunities available to Perry students.”
