Graphic Products Introduces Custom UV Watermark Tapes
Portland, OR (PRWEB) July 31, 2013 -- Custom UV watermark tapes from Graphic Products help protect companies from counterfeits or product-swapping. Similar to a security hologram, these labels feature a nearly invisible watermark printed with fluorescing ink. When labels are exposed to UV, counterfeiting is revealed.
To create your own watermark labels, simply provide Graphic Products with an electronic image of your desired graphic or text. Within a week, you'll receive a supply of your custom UV watermark tape. For added security, use with tamper evident destructible tapes or tamper-evident "VOID" tapes.
An example of a potential UV watermark tape application is a counterfeit-thwarting application used by Tri-Met, Portland Oregon’s public transit provider. Tri-Met applies a special hologram tape to bus, commuter rail and street car passes. Without this device, crooks would be able to inexpensively color copy the bus passes and Tri-Met would lose $100 with each copy. As the hologram image cannot be reproduced by copiers, it is nearly impossible to counterfeit Tri-Met passes.
Watermark tapes can also be used for product labeling, equipment and computer identification, packaging security and many other theft and security protection applications including casino equipment labeling, asset tracking, visitor badges, and product prototypes.
Earlier in the year, Graphic Products introduced the DuraLabel Custom Label Service to help customers create their own custom, multicolor labels and signs with logos, special graphics and symbols. The Graphic Products’ engineers have successfully developed more than 50 supplies which are both abrasion and weather-tested.
To meet the specific labeling demands of facility managers, Graphic Products and DuraLabel continues to innovate by releasing new labeling systems and supplies to the marketplace. The DuraLabel Lobo, the newest labeling system, is part of the growing trend of “grab-and-go” laptop-sized label printers. Featuring an easy-to-use snap-in cartridge, Lobo may be loaded with color vinyl as well as self-laminating wire wraps, metal-detectable tape, oily surface tape, and many other supplies. Users may access a library of more than 1,200 symbols, pictograms, and basic design templates. Lobo features a 3.5" color screen and a full-sized keyboard. The optional rechargeable battery provides more than three hours of continuous printing. No network connectivity is required.
