Great Sky Solar Celebrates Bike Fridays This Summer
Cambridge, MA (PRWEB) April 30, 2015 -- Great Sky Solar will be attending Boston's Bike Fridays this summer for the third year in a row. One Friday of every month this summer, cyclists will join commuter convoys and ride to the City Hall Plaza, where they will receive a complimentary breakfast and coffee. City Hall Plaza will also be hosting an expo with music and vendors.
Great Sky Solar will have a booth at the expo, and the staff is excited to be able to greet passersby and show their support for the community. Many of Great Sky Solar's employees commute via bicycle, if not by public transit, and will be using Bike Fridays to advocate for other green activities, such as utilizing solar technology.
"For the people who see us there, it showcases our resilience in the [solar] industry; we didn't start with investor money, yet we've shown our tenacity and unwavering commitment to supporting the local community and businesses," stated Great Sky Solar CEO Katherine Fisher. She went on to explain that Great Sky Solar had connected with its first clients at Bike Fridays, and was there, sharing ideas about residential solar technology and connecting with the community even before it was a brick-and-mortar business.
Bike Fridays were founded to encourage Boston residents to commute via bicycle and to celebrate cyclists. Guided commuter convoys will be located around the city to help cyclists reach City Hall Plaza safely. Interested cyclists should meet up with their nearest convoy at 6:45 a.m. to prepare for their departure at 7:00. Breakfast will run between 7:00 and 9:00, and is for cyclists only. Registration is complimentary and encouraged, so that event organizers know how many participants to expect.
Bike Fridays will be held June 26th, July 24th and August 28th. May 15th will be the Boston Bike Week Festival.
