Greater Ontario CVB Announces 2014 Events, Festivals
Ontario, CA (PRWEB) January 30, 2014 -- Greater Ontario is ringing in 2014 with a full lineup of festivals and events that feature everything from world-class auto-racing to banjo-picking.
NASCAR and Indy races, the popular Route 66 Cruisin’ Reunion, Huck Finn Festival and other major community events make Greater Ontario a popular destination for those wanting to see and experience some of the very best in Southern California culture.
The lineup of events taking place in 2014 includes:
• NASCAR at Auto Club Speedway, March 21-23. Watch as your favorite NASCAR Sprint Cup drivers compete for the NNS and Auto Club 400 races.
• Inland Empire Restaurant Week, March 21-30. Inland Empire Restaurant Week is a 10-day dining event that showcases a variety of eateries throughout the Inland Empire. Participating restaurants offer special lunch and dinner menus at set prices, enticing new customers to sample their fare and enhancing the economic impact of dining establishments throughout the region. http://www.inlandempirerestaurantweek.com.
• Lemon Festival, April 25-27, in downtown Upland. An important tradition since 1997, this community tradition has grown into a citywide celebration including food, entertainment, competitions, carnival rides, games and more.
• THE AUTO SHOW Inland Empire, May 16-18, at the Ontario Convention Center. The last large-market auto show of the season, it will feature a comprehensive display of the year’s most popular makes and models, including late releases.
• Huck Finn Jubilee, Jun 13-16, at Cucamonga-Guasti Regional Park. One of the largest blue grass festivals of its kind in the nation, this annual gathering combines old-fashioned games, historical reenactments, fishing, crafts and some of the world’s most popular bluegrass musicians. • Fourth of July Parade and Picnic, Ontario. The city celebrates Independence Day with a parade featuring floats, bands, walking groups and equestrian units, followed by a blocks-long picnic along Historic Euclid Avenue.
• Los Angeles County Fair, August – September, at the Fairplex in Pomona. The L.A. County Fair runs for a month and is an extravaganza of exhibits, festival food, carnival rides, flower and garden shows, concerts and much more.
• Route 66 Cruisin’ Reunion, Sept. 19-21, Ontario. This vintage car show fills the streets of Euclid Avenue in downtown Ontario, attracting more than 120,000 visitors and hundreds of classic automobiles from all over the country. Cruising, contests, musical entertainment, special guests and food vendors will be part of the fun at this tribute to the car culture of Southern California and the nation’s Mother Road. http://www.route66cruisinreunion.com.
• Indy MAVTV 500, Aug. 30 at Auto Club Speedway. Part of the annual Indy Car Series of racing, this annual event features the world’s best Indy Car racers.
• Founders Day Community Parade, Rancho Cucamonga. This annual parade through the streets of Victoria Gardens celebrates the merger of three communities in 1977: Cucamonga, Etiwanda and Alta Loma, which formed the incorporated city of Rancho Cucamonga.
• Children’s Christmas Parade, Upland. Historic Downtown Upland is always packed for this event, which includes marching groups, bands, dignitaries and the jolly old elf himself. A children’s Teddy Bear Tea precedes the event.
• Christmas on Euclid, Dec. 6, Euclid Avenue Ontario. Started in the early 1980s, this event celebrates the season with a holiday-themed street fair offering handmade crafts, jewelry and decorations. It is set against the backdrop of the city’s 12 historic nativity scenes that have lined the boulevard for more than 50 years. Be sure to check out the handmade candy cane making which takes place throughout the month of December at Logan’s Candies.
