GreekBoston.com Launches Greek History Sections on Website
Boston, MA (PRWEB) February 24, 2015 -- GreekBoston.com®, a leading online resource for Greeks living in the Boston, Massachusetts, and greater New England area, has recently launched two Greek History sections on its website. The first section covers Ancient Greek history and the second covers Modern Greek history.
“As Greeks, we have a strong sense of pride in our history. We’ve added the Ancient Greek History and Modern Greek History sections to the website to provide helpful information for people that are looking to learn more about their heritage. There are obviously so many Greek history topics to cover, which is why we separated it into these two sections,” said Niko Stamoulis, owner of GreekBoston.com®.
In the Ancient Greek History section (http://www.greekboston.com/category/culture/ancient-history/) on GreekBoston.com®, visitors can find historical information about Ancient Greece spanning from before the beginning of the Dark Ages up through and beyond Greece in the Middle Ages. Topics covered in this section include the first marathon, the origins of the Greek alphabet, how the Greek city-states began, the rise and fall of the ancient civilizations including the Minoans, Mycenaeans, and the Phoenicians , the ancient Olympic Games, Alexander the Great, Sparta, The Trojan War, and more.
In the Modern Greek History section (http://www.greekboston.com/category/culture/modern-history/) on GreekBoston.com®, visitors can find Greek history information regarding Greece in the 20th century through today. While Ancient Greece is filled with years and years of history, Modern Greece has gone through many changes during the 20th Century to become the country that it is today. Topics covered in the Modern History section include Greece entering World War II, the Battle of Crete, the Greek War of Independence, Greece’s five year dictatorial regime, how the Greek modern democracy was developed, among many other topics.
