Greenberg Traurig Attorneys to Speak at Inaugural Japan Gaming Congress

Sabol and Laura McAllister Cox with the international law firm Greenberg Traurig LLP are speaking at the inaugural Japan Gaming Congress taking place May 14 – 16, 2014 in Tokyo, Japan. Michael J. Sabol, chair of Greenberg Traurig’s Gaming Practice and secretary of the International Association of Gaming Advisors (IAGA), is speaking Thursday, May 15, 2014. She will be on a panel titled, “Envisioning the IR model in Japan Part 1 – What regulatory approach is likely to deliver expected results?” Panelists will discuss Integrated resorts (IR) and the political and regulatory considerations needed in order to achieve IR success in Japan. “I look forward to an interesting discussion of the issues surrounding the proposed legislation in Japan among those who are at the forefront of international gaming issues,” said Sabol, who focuses her practice on gaming regulatory and business law for U.S. and international clients.
McAllister Cox, a shareholder with Greenberg Traurig and general counsel of IAGA, will moderate the panel, “Understanding the approval/licensing procedure for all gaming manufacturers and suppliers doing business in Japan” on Friday, May 16. Panelists will discuss topics such as comparing the gaming device regulated markets of Singapore, Macau, Australia, Nevada and New Jersey. “This conference will provide great information and thought provoking discussion and lead nicely into this October’s annual IAGA International Gaming Summit conference,” said McAllister Cox, who represents casino operators, gaming manufacturers and distributors.
Bonner represents hotel-casino resort operators, manufacturers, suppliers, lenders and officers, directors, and key employees in transactional, licensing and other approvals before the Nevada State Gaming Control Board and the Nevada Gaming Commission.
According to the conference website, the Japan Gaming Congress with bring together members of the government, key industry leaders and distinguished local and international market representatives as they discuss the latest developments for what analysts agree to be a potential $10B market. The conference will host international and local businesses involved in the full supply chain who will help shape the proposed casino legislation in Japan over the next 18 months.
