Greenberg Traurig Denver Attorney Recognized as 2017 Open Door Honoree
DENVER (PRWEB) October 13, 2017 -- Renée W. O’Rourke, a shareholder in the Benefits & Compensation Practice in the Denver office of the global law firm Greenberg Traurig LLP, will be honored as a 2017 Open Door Honoree by Dress for Success’ Board of Directors. O’Rourke will be recognized as a trailblazing woman in business during a reception and awards ceremony, followed by a Neiman Marcus Fashion Show, on Oct. 21. O’Rourke helped spearhead efforts to support Dress for Success as part of Greenberg Traurig’s Denver 2017 Women’s Initiative. The firm recently kicked-off its year-long initiative on July 25, leading to the September 13 main event where close to 200 items were donated and more than five thousand dollars was raised for the nonprofit.
"Dress for Success Denver is honored to recognize Renée O'Rourke as a 2017 Open Door Honoree," says Amara Martin, CEO of Dress for Success. "Renée is a fierce supporter of her community, specifically related to women's issues. She was instrumental in creating an enduring relationship between Dress for Success Denver and Greenberg Traurig that has supported Dress for Success Denver's women in their efforts to achieve self-sufficiency and economic independence."
Along with O’Rourke, a task force for the initiative was formed with Naomi G. Beer, a shareholder in the Litigation Practice and the Women’s Initiative liaison for the Denver office; Amy L. Kramer, an associate in the Intellectual Property Litigation Practice; and Laura E. Jones, an associate also in the Litigation Practice.
"By participating with Dress for Success, Greenberg Traurig encourages its employees and clients to get involved in helping to improve the lives of women in the Denver-metro area," explains Beer, event co-chair.
This Women’s Initiative event was also supported by the Denver office’s philanthropic outreach campaign – Great Minds Great Hearts. Through its Great Minds Great Hearts community outreach and the overall Greenberg Traurig Philanthropic Fund, the firm’s Denver office supports the work of local nonprofits. Grants are given in the areas of Arts & Culture, Diversity, Education, Leadership, and People in Need. The organizations chosen to receive funding also count on the active participation of a Greenberg Traurig attorney.
