Greenberg Traurig Miami Sponsors Blechman Foundation’s Stolen Base Challenge to Fund Parkinson’s Research
MIAMI, Fla. (PRWEB) April 14, 2015 -- International law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A. has joined the team as a sponsor of the Blechman Foundation’s DeeFeat Parkinson’s Disease Stolen Base Challenge to raise money for Parkinson’s research.
Baseball fans and others are encouraged to pledge funds for every base stolen by Miami Marlins infielder Dee Gordon during the month of April, the kickoff of the 2015 Major League Baseball season and Parkinson’s Awareness Month.
“We are proud to support this challenge and raise funds for Parkinson’s research,” said Kenneth C. Hoffman, a shareholder in the Miami Corporate & Securities Practice, who is a friend of the Blechman family.
Parkinson’s disease is a progressive, neurodegenerative brain disease that causes a part of the brain essential for movement to degenerate. It is estimated that at least one million people in the United States suffer from the disease.
The Blechman Foundation is an IRS Section 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization dedicated to funding cutting-edge Parkinson’s disease research and developing “neuroprotective” drugs. The Foundation donates its funds to scientists and research labs in the United States.
