Greenberg Traurig’s Dan Black, John Maatta, and Bobby Rosenbloum to Speak at ABA’s 2015 Forum on Entertainment & Sports
LOS ANGELES (PRWEB) October 06, 2015 -- Shareholders Dan Black and Bobby Rosenbloum and Of Counsel John Maatta of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, will be speaking at the American Bar Association’s (“ABA”) 2015 Forum on Entertainment & Sports Oct. 8 – 10, 2015, at the Grand Hyatt Washington in Washington, D.C.
Black, chair of the firm’s West Coast Entertainment and Media Practice, is co-chair of Motion Pictures, Television, Cable and Radio Division of the upcoming forum. Rosenbloum is co-chair of the Atlanta Entertainment and Media Practice and is chair of Digital Music and Other Digital Media for the forum.
Black will moderate and Maatta will speak on the panel titled, “Over-the-Top Television and Unbundling: Maintaining Viewership or Reaching Out to the Next Generation?,” while Rosenbloum will speak on the panel, “Music Licensing – A World in Transition; The Ever-Shifting Sands of Time in Music Licensing and Rights Acquisition.”
According to the conference brochure, the focus of the annual event is “The Year of Thinking Big.” Renowned speakers will be presenting their unique insight on pertinent entertainment and sports issues, highlighting topics such as unauthorized data breaches, copyright revision, net neutrality, fantasy sports, collective bargaining agreements, licensing and litigation updates, and more.
Black has extensive experience in the television, motion picture, and digital media arenas, having practiced law both in the major studio and law firm settings. Equally comfortable in the traditional and new media areas, he has served as lead counsel to both corporate entities and individuals on numerous transactions with the major motion picture studios and television networks, in addition to major Internet content producing, licensing, and advertising entities. His clients include production and distribution, Internet and video game companies, as well as advertising agencies, show runners and producers, and on-air television and sports personalities. Black also possesses substantial experience in representing internationally based clients in their entertainment endeavors.
Maatta focuses his practice on entertainment and media law, including development, production, new media, video on demand, employment, co-production and financing agreements, and matters related to the dissemination of content by broadcast, cable, and Internet platforms. He is experienced in dealing with issues involving distribution, affiliate relations, human resources, broadcast standards, and matters involving media-related technology. Prior to joining Greenberg Traurig, Maatta spent several years as a senior network executive at The CW Television Network and most recently served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel.
Rosenbloum is noted for specializing in digital technology and represents dozens of leading tech companies that negotiate licensing deals with music labels. Rosenbloum has wide-ranging experience negotiating complex content agreements with record companies, music publishing companies, music publishing rights organizations, motion picture studios, television networks, and various independent contact providers and aggregators.
