Greenberg Traurig's Francoise Gilbert Presents at CMSS 2017 Annual Meeting
(PRWEB) November 14, 2017 -- Francoise Gilbert, shareholder at global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, will be presenting at the Council of Medical Specialty Societies (CMSS) 2017 Annual Meeting, Nov. 16 – 18. Ms. Gilbert will speak on Nov. 17 about the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). She will address how GDPR may apply to health organizations that provide care to patients originating from the EU/EEA; the notice, accountability, and security requirements; the restrictions to cross-border data transfers; and the extensive rights granted to individuals residing in the EU/EEA.
A shareholder in the firm’s Silicon Valley office, Ms. Gilbert focuses her practice and research on U.S. and global data privacy and cybersecurity in a wide variety of markets, including, among others, artificial intelligence, data science, connected devices, sensors, robotics, and other emerging or disruptive technologies. Ms. Gilbert is the author of the two-volume treatise “Global Privacy and Security Law,” published by Wolters Kluwer (http://www.globalprivacybook.com), and the co-author of a dozen other law books, including for example “Robotic Technologies Law,” published by Larcier, and “Internet of Things and Data Analytics,” published by Wiley. She has received law degrees and obtained bar admissions both in the United States and in France, and holds CIPP/US, CIPP/EU, and CIPM certifications from the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
