Greenberg Traurig’s Rebecca Harrigal Speaks at NABL 42nd Annual Bond Attorneys Workshop

Harrigal of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP will be speaking at the National Association of Bond Lawyers’ (NABL) 42nd Annual Bond Attorneys Workshop, Oct. 4 – 6. Harrigal will be a panelist for “The Commissioner’s Side: IRS Examinations, Voluntary Compliance Programs, and Outreach.”
According to the program, the panel will discuss current topics relating to IRS examinations of tax-exempt bonds and other tax-advantaged bonds; IRS Voluntary Closing Agreement Program (VCAP) for tax-exempt bonds and other tax-advantaged bonds; and additional related initiatives, activities, and publications of the Tax-Exempt Bond function within the TE/GE Division of the IRS. Over the three-day event, the panel will meet three times. The first two meetings will include a panelist in a senior TE/GE position and the third session will be practitioner-only.
Prior to joining Greenberg Traurig, Harrigal spent 26 years working at the IRS, most recently serving as Director of the Office of Tax Exempt Bonds within the Tax Exempt and Governmental Entities Division of the IRS. As a tax shareholder in the firm’s Northern Virginia office, she focuses her practice on matters related to tax-exempt bonds, tax credit bonds and direct pay bonds.
