Herrington, co-chair of firm’s Products Liability & Mass Torts Practice, will present on product liability and risk management issues at the session “Startup Workshop: Live Demonstration & Expert Legal Counsel.” This workshop will provide an interactive, open panel discussion for three startups to present and receive insight from established sports + fitness brands and seasoned legal experts.
Speakers and attendees will explore major game changers in today’s regulatory landscape including the convergence of sports and technology, trends in the retail and the E-commerce space, innovation and risks, big data product liability, and the evolving political environment and its effect on the industry, such as Prop 65 and updates from the US Consumer Product Safety Commission.
A first-chair trial lawyer, Herrington has broad experience defending major corporations in class actions and product liability suits. This includes in the areas of false advertising, unfair competition, product defect, and privacy. Committed to raising awareness of class action litigation risk, Herrington is the author of the best-selling book, Verdict for the Defense (Sutton Hart Press 2011), and a co-author of The Class Action Fairness Act: Law and Strategy (ABA Publishing 2013).
