Greenberg Traurig’s William C. Silverman Chairs 2015 Legal Information for Families Today Gala
NEW YORK (PRWEB) June 24, 2015 -- William C. Silverman, litigation shareholder and head of the pro bono program at international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, served as 2015 Benefit Committee Chair for the Legal Information for Families Today (LIFT) 2015 Gala: A Benefit for Families held Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at Three Sixty° in New York City. The firm was also on the host committee for the gala, where honorees included Citi, KPMG LLP, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, and Maya Wiley, counsel to the New York City mayor.
LIFT empowers families to advocate for themselves in New York City Family Court.

Silverman focuses his practice on government investigations and white collar criminal matters, as well as complex civil litigation in federal and state courts. He currently serves on the boards of directors for not only LIFT, but also The Fund for Modern Courts, which recently received the DoGooder ImpactX Award for a video the firm financed on the need for more family court judges, and The Children’s Law Center. He also serves as counsel to the New York State Anti-Trafficking Coalition. Silverman is president of Greenberg Traurig’s Holly Skolnick Fellowship Foundation, which is the largest single funder of Equal Justice Works fellowships in the country. He has been recognized as a leader in the pro bono community, and his accolades include being named one of New York’s New Abolitionists by Sanctuary for Families and the New York State Anti-Trafficking Coalition; the Above and Beyond Award for Excellence in Pro Bono Service from Sanctuary for Families; and the Commitment to Justice Award for Outstanding Partner from inMotion.
