Greenberg Traurig Texas Expands Further with Addition of Houston Shareholders David Oliver and Paul Kerlin
(PRWEB) September 15, 2016 -- Continuing its strategic growth in Texas, the international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, has added two highly respected shareholders to the Houston office, David A. Oliver and Paul B. Kerlin. Prior to joining Greenberg Traurig, Oliver was the founding partner of the Houston office of the firm of Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease. Kerlin also joins Greenberg Traurig from Vorys' Houston office.
“We are very pleased to welcome new shareholders David Oliver and Paul Kerlin. David is a seasoned litigator and highly respected in the areas of products liability, toxic torts, and food liability litigation. Paul has broad experience in mass torts and commercial litigation, as well as the appellate process. Together, they will further expand Greenberg Traurig’s already robust litigation capabilities in Texas,” said Douglas C. Atnipp, Greenberg Traurig’s co-regional operating shareholder for Texas.
Oliver focuses his practice on civil litigation. With degrees in both biology and chemistry, Oliver applies technical knowledge to scientific and statistically-based claims. In addition, he is board-certified in personal injury trial law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. His areas of concentration include products liability, mass torts, pathogens, food liability litigation, toxic torts, personal injury, manufacturing, and chemical and radiation exposure. Oliver holds a B.S. in chemistry from Furman University and a J.D. from Baylor University School of Law.
Kerlin concentrates on mass torts and commercial litigation, as well as the appellate process. His practice extends to representing businesses and contractors in defamation and disparagement actions. Kerlin’s areas of concentration include traumatic and latent personal injuries, commercial residential lender liability, false advertising and defamation, mesothelioma and asbestosis, benzene and chemical exposures, and maritime and admiralty disputes. Kerlin earned a B.S. in microbiology from Texas A&M University and his J.D. from South Texas College of Law.
Oliver and Kerlin join after two other recent significant Texas litigation hires, shareholders Karl G. Dial and Casey L. Moore, who were previously at DLA Piper. Greenberg Traurig continues to focus on strategically growing its presence in Texas, which includes recent hires of shareholders Karl D. Burrer, Dania Duncan, Sean McKenna, Lenard M.
