GreenFields of Geneva Hosted a Car Wash for Residents, Its First of What Is Likely to Become an Annual Event
Geneva, IL (PRWEB) September 26, 2013 -- Earlier this summer, GreenFields of Geneva hosted its first of what is likely to become an annual event. Almost three dozen associates of GreenFields held a car wash for the community’s residents. Over the course of several hours, approximately 60 cars were scrubbed and polished while the occasional water fight broke out. Judi Donovan, executive director and Christina Fox, executive chef, grilled up hot dogs and served ice cream.
Cary Cramer, director of building operations at GreenFields said that the car wash was something he’d wanted to coordinate since the community opened its doors 19 months ago. “It’s our way of sharing good times with the residents, having fun, and giving back to them for being part of our great community,” he said. “It wasn’t just an opportunity for them to have their cars cleaned. It was the chance for them to see us in action and to see people they might not normally see washing their cars.”
Cramer, who has been working in senior living for more than 20 years, said that the decision to hold the car wash was an easy one to make. “GreenFields is a special place. Since we opened, it’s been a very tight knit community. It’s really a family-like atmosphere. We love to plan events like this to create an atmosphere of fun where everyone has a great time together,” Cramer said. “This wasn’t something we had to think a lot about. We love to give back to the residents. They bring a lot of smiles to the associates’ faces. We really don’t see ourselves as being residents and associates, we see ourselves as being GreenFields as a whole. It’s been that way from day one and we’ll continue to foster that relationship.”
