Greenhill Pharmacy - Better Health. Better Life.
Wilmington, Delaware (PRWEB) December 03, 2015 -- Secretary of Health, Rita Landgraf celebrated the opening of a new, modern drug store in the southwest Wilmington community.
Assisted by county executive Tom Gordon, local councilman Bob Williams, Delaware Chamber of Commerce Senior Vice President Chuck James, and Ciro Poppitti along with pharmacy executive Jay Patel marked the opening of the new Greenhill Pharmacy with a ceremonial ribbon cutting.
The location at 2511 W 4th St. is the company’s first flagship store. Designed to have a modern, eclectic feel, with natural wood countertops and eco-friendly LED lighting features, the pharmacy offers a warm, welcoming atmosphere to the patients of Wilmington.
According to a study in the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (Olson 2005), the overwhelming majority of patients feel they are not well tended to and due to the lack of interaction have a very low understanding of prescription drug benefit and low satisfaction with their pharmacy experience.
In 2002, the Journal of the American Pharmacist Society showed a correlation between the patient-pharmacist interaction and patient satisfaction and consequently patient adherence to a prescribed medication regimen.
“Things weren’t always like that”, says Dr. Patel. “Somewhere in evolution of healthcare, patients were lost in the mix. I started this pharmacy to give back to the community, to make all patients - children, families and senior citizens - feel confident about their own health and wellness.”
“I really appreciate that you are here within our neighborhood and you are hosting us this morning,” said Secretary Landgraf. “The city of Wilmington, where we know there is a huge disparity relative to the number of people that are impacted by illnesses such as HIV. So you are right in the place where we really need you to be, Jay”.
“My vision for Greenhill Pharmacy was to create a destination for health and daily living that offers my patient an exceptional service-based experience. Gone are the days where pharmacists are stuck behind the computer adjudicating insurance claims. At Greenhill Pharmacy the pharmacist is accessible to provide more counseling and services to patients to foster pharmacist-patient relationships.
Greenhill Pharmacy will provide pharmacy services to everyone, but will focus on special niche services that serve young adults, senior citizens, and high-risk HIV & Hepatitis C patients in southwest Wilmington and northern Delaware. Greenhill Pharmacy, besides offering the same pharmaceutical and consultations services of the major chains it will offer, non-sterile compounding, pain management, advanced HIV medication, Hepatitis C specialty care, hospice care, medication therapy management consultations, diabetic medications and supplies, and cash-based same day veterinary compounding. Greenhill Pharmacy also offers free same day delivery - this will especially cater to the senior citizens. With a sleek, modernistic design, the pharmacy is geared to provide a welcoming pharmacy experience with competitively priced products and a new age, digital interface for patients to achieve their pharmacy needs.
The store will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m weekdays and 9 a.m. to 4:00 p.m on Saturday, the pharmacy is closed on Sunday.
