Greenstar Home Services Reminds California and Nevada Homeowners of New A/C Standards
Las Vegas, Nevada (PRWEB) June 17, 2015 -- Earlier this spring, Greenstar Home Services released an announcement educating homeowners about the United States Department of Energy’s raised standards for central AC systems, and warned about a potential cost increase for new units. Effective January 1st, 2015, the Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER Rating) has been raised in an effort to increase energy conservation.

The eco-friendly organization fully supports the raised efficiency standards for AC units, but does recognize the increase in equipment costs that will come with the change. Greenstar now reminds homeowners about the DOE regulation changes, and warns that the inventory of the less expensive equipment is decreasing.
Colin Martodam, Greenstar COO comments, “SEER rating for air conditioners has increased- effective January 1st 2015. However, manufacturers still have previously manufactured units in stock, and are allowed to sell them until their inventory is cleared out. The new DOE law only prohibits manufacturing new units with the previous SEER rating.”
Martodam continues, “Homeowners that have been considering a new air conditioning system should not wait any longer, as the opportunity for less expensive, but still efficient equipment is not going to last more than another month or so as the inventory dwindles.”
Greenstar urges their Las Vegas and Orange County residents who are planning on replacing their AC system in the near future to keep the DOE changes and equipment inventory in mind.
