GreenTech’s Lighting Solutions Provide Kingsdown 73% Reduction in Energy Consumption
Mebane, NC (PRWEB) August 25, 2016 -- GreenTech Solutions Group succeeded in delivering a 73% reduction in annual lighting energy usage for Kingsdown, Inc. with an LED lighting upgrade in the mattress manufacturer’s plant. Kingsdown received 70% cost savings in rebates and incentives for the retrofit, bringing a quick 1.3 year payback period.
Kingsdown’s approach to manufacturing mattresses involves a steadfast commitment to sleep health – backed by research, data collection, and meticulous testing. The company used the same committed approach when they wanted to improve the lighting quality, efficiency, and lumen output for their 98,000-square foot plant in Mebane, NC and nearby corporate headquarters. GreenTech worked with Kingsdown by providing recommendations on eliminating T12 strip fixtures and aged metal halide highbays as well as solutions to maximize critical production lighting. The result was more efficient lighting in key areas and balanced light levels across the plant. The dimmable LED panel lights beautified the offices, shops, workout area, and cafeteria providing for customizable light levels as needed.
The financial benefits were equally as beneficial:

GreenTech also worked on Kingsdown’s headquarters, where offices, showrooms, and restrooms were retrofitted with LED panel lights. These upgrades brought about a 75% reduction in annual lighting energy usage and operating costs with rebates and incentives resulting in impressive one-year payback period.
