Greenwich High School Hall of Fame To Induct Class of 2015 at Banquet on June 10th
Greenwich, CT (PRWEB) April 30, 2015 -- The Greenwich High School (GHS) Sports Hall of Fame is proud to announce that it will host its second annual banquet to induct the Class of 2015 on Wednesday, June 10th from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency, 1800 E Putnam Ave, Old Greenwich, CT. New York Giants Head Coach Tom Coughlin will serve as the evening’s featured guest speaker. The Class of 2015 inductees will include eight former athletes, four former coaches, and two undefeated teams. Being honored for their outstanding achievement in athletics while representing GHS are: Ken Bell, 1981, Football, Track & Field (Denver Broncos); Anthony “Toto” Deluca, 1955, Football (Green Bay Packers); Ceci Hopp, 1981, Track & Field (NCAA Track Champion at Stanford University); Charlie Hotetz, 1960, Basketball, Baseball; Charlie Luce, 1960’s, Coach; Kim O’Gorman, 1984, Field Hockey; Mike Ornato, 1970’s-90’s, Football Coach; Sandy Pendergast, 1970’s-90’s, Cheerleading Coach/Adviser; Sam Rutigliano, 1960’s, Football Coach (Cleveland Browns); Jeff Stiling, 1978, Swimming; Ting Vanneman, 1963, Track & Field; Donald Ward, 1970, Football, Basketball (All-State); 1978 Girls Track & Field Team; and 1963 Football Team
“This year’s hall of fame is shaping up to be even bigger than our inaugural induction ceremony,” said Pat Mediate, GHS Sports Hall Of Fame Foundation chairman. “I am humbled by the passion that everyone in the community continues to express. If our first induction in 2013 was the spark, then this year’s banquet will truly be the fire.” This year’s honorees will join the likes of NFL Hall of Famer Steve Young, former Olympian Sue Merz, and former MLB player John “Zeke” Bella, who were a part of the inaugural inductee class of the GHS Sports Hall of Fame.
The Greenwich High School Sports Hall of Fame Foundation, a 501(c) non-profit organization, was formed to celebrate the former triumphs of its inductees in athletics.
