Greenwood Village Spa Refreshes Look, Brand and Services

Owners Cathy Bosson and Alana Norman launched refresh in 2015. The two have been business partners for a decade owning Pilates in the Pines, a Castle Pines fitness studio centered on the latest methods of Pilates training.
“We realized that beyond physical fitness, grooming is a big part of self-image, so we set out to create a relaxing, fun place where customers could come to look as beautiful as they feel,” Norman says.
Drawing from their backgrounds as fitness trainers, the owners equipped the salon with healthy approaches to grooming like installing deep farmhouse-style pedicure sinks that are drained and cleaned after each use to ensure the utmost in sanitation. “Many salons use recirculating footbaths with antiseptic chemicals. I don’t know about you, but I’d rather drain the tub instead of bathing in someone else’s used water,” Bosson says. They even go so far as to sterilize their implements in medical-grade autoclaves between uses. “We’re committed to health and well-being, so we go to extraordinary measures to protect our customers from any sort of cross-contamination,” she adds.
In keeping with their commitment to healthy living, Norman and Bosson hand-picked products designed for optimum performance without relying on harsh, artificial ingredients. This has led them to developing a custom-formulated line of refresh-branded products that will be ready for sale in the fall.
Part of refresh’s own makeover includes turning grooming from a routine necessity to a stimulating, rejuvenating, and fun experience. Besides hairstyling, mani-pedis, waxing and other grooming services—all with a relaxing glass of wine—refresh encourages customers to turn their visits into fun-filled events with bachelorette parties, girls’ nights out, birthdays, and mommy-and-me mani-pedis. They will even arrange team-building retreats for businesses.
“All of our services are designed to rejuvenate, stimulate and refresh, so they’re a great choice for bonding experiences from couples to BFFs, parent and child to workgroups,” Norman says. And yes, she said couples. refresh offers manicures and pedicures for men, called the sports manicure and sports pedicure, accompanied by a refreshing beer of choice.
Walk-ins are always welcome, but refresh offers a membership program for regular visits and service upgrades like French polish, paraffin treatments and callous removal as well as discounts on products.
