Greg Adler and Team 4 Wheel Parts Return to Glen Helen for Lucas Oil Off Road Clash
Compton, California (PRWEB) July 17, 2015 -- The 18-round Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series returns to Southern California’s Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino for Rounds 9 & 10, this weekend, July 18-19 and Greg Adler and Team 4 Wheel Parts are prepared to join the fray in his 900 HP Pro4. The series reaches the pivotal halfway point of the season as the nation’s preeminent off-road drivers descend upon the hills of San Bernardino to skirmish on the tight and twisted terrain at the purpose-built course at legendary Glen Helen.
While the surrounding mountains have echoed with the high revving whine of motorcycles for the past 30 years, Glen Helen, along with the famed and long-ago shuttered Riverside International Raceway, maintains the historical distinction of hosting some of off-road racing’s earliest organized events. Now, with Lucas Oil Off Road Racing continuing the short course off-road racing tradition at the fabled course, fans and racers alike eagerly anticipate the series’ return to the Southern California location each year.
“There’s something special about having the opportunity to race Glen Helen each year,” said Adler. “Between off-road races and national and international motocross championships, there is a rich history and off-road racing heritage there that sets it apart from any other place we race. Each time we go back there we see capacity crowds who have an immense amount of energy and enthusiasm for off-road racing. Now we’re racing under the lights Saturday and Sunday night and it’s going to add even more excitement to the weekend.”
The weekend will also allow Adler, who currently sits sixth, to move up through the standings, as he prepares to take the track alongside the most prolific lineup of drivers in what is now a stacked Pro4 field. The narrow course, which often becomes heavily rutted and has featured some of the sport’s most horrific crashes, promises to provide a spectacle for fans as drivers will be connecting in close quarters on the 1/8 mile track.
“We’ve had glimpses of success this season including a trip to the podium at Lake Elsinore,” said Adler. “We’ve brought home a win from Glen Helen in the past and know what it takes to get to the top of the box there. It’s time for this team to really pull together and get a solid start to the second half of the season.”
Racing under the lights at Glen Helen starts with opening ceremonies at 7:30 p.m. each evening. With gates open to the public at 4 p.m. and the paddock area open to the public, spectators are encouraged to visit Team 4 Wheel Parts and witness the action first-hand as Mike Seat and his crew prepare to take the green flag.
This season’s 2015 Lucas Oil Off Road calendar will also see events in Reno and Las Vegas, Nevada and for the first time ever, Ensenada, Mexico before returning to Southern California for the season ending Challenge Cup.
