Grooveshark Introduces New Social Design
New York (PRWEB) February 25, 2015 -- Grooveshark, the leading streaming audio platform for content creators, listeners and broadcasters, today unveils a new user interface and complete site redesign. Over a year in the making, the all-new Grooveshark features a beautiful, responsive design to help ensure a consistent experience across all devices.
This new release is focused around community interaction and sharing, with an improved navigation schema that represents the biggest user interface upgrade in the company’s decade-long existence. The all-new Grooveshark empowers users to discover music through people, and people through music.
“Grooveshark will be centered on social interaction through music. We’ve listened to the needs of our listeners and artists, as well as the music industry as a whole,” said Josh Greenberg, Grooveshark CTO and Co-Founder. “Listeners want better ways to discover music, just as artists want better ways to engage with their fans. We’ve coupled these needs with the industry’s desire for more flexibility in controlling content. These were the driving motivations behind the new site. We’ve rebuilt Grooveshark from the ground up to enable community-driven, human-powered music discovery.”
A beta preview version was made available exclusively to Grooveshark VIP subscribers for the past few weeks. Incorporating the feedback from this initial group of power users, the all-new Grooveshark will be rolled out to the service’s entire global audience this month.
“We are proud to continue to provide a streaming service used by millions of artists and music fans all over the world,” said Sam Tarantino, Grooveshark CEO and Co-Founder. “Music streaming provides great opportunities to bridge artists and fans, and our new social platform for fan engagement will provide great opportunities for the artists and content owners we work with.”
FEATURES OF THE ALL-NEW GROOVESHARK:
Music Feed
Sharing is at the core of Grooveshark. The new Music Feed allows songs, artists, playlists, albums, Broadcasts, and user profiles to be shared with anyone on Grooveshark, publicly or privately. Now a listeners feed experience gets organically better over time, as it learns based on your musical taste, the artists you follow, and your unique Grooveshark community.
Sidebar
The new Sidebar puts all the Grooveshark features in one place. Search for music, manage account preferences, and access your collections, playlists, and Broadcasts all within one simplified interface. A new vertical queue creates more space for song information, and allows for quick, natural navigation.
Always-on Broadcasts
With Broadcast, listen to real-time, human-powered radio hosted by members of the global Grooveshark community. Join a Broadcast, and chat with broadcasters, artists and fellow listeners while discovering music together. Or start a Broadcast and share new music with the world. With the all-new Grooveshark, listeners can now even Broadcast while offline, which means they can create a broadcast today, queue up a selection of favorite songs, turn off their computer entirely, and return to the broadcast tomorrow and it will still be on-air.
Improved Sharing
Sharing has always been at the core of how Grooveshark works, and the redesign is even more focused on it. Tag a genre, tag friends, add a comment, and get favorite music out to the world for everyone to hear. You can share music privately or publicly—it’s always up to the listener.
Customizable Profiles:
Make a custom Grooveshark. Add beautiful cover photos to listener profiles, playlists, and Broadcasts. Arrange content; showcase playlists and favorite music, and personalize the profile to represent your unique musical identity.
The all-new Grooveshark will be made available to all Grooveshark users this month. To get access today, visit preview.grooveshark.com.
