Groupware Technology’s Mike Thompson Receives Principal 10 Best Award and Donates $2,500 to Compass Family Services
Campbell, CA (PRWEB) January 29, 2014 -- Groupware Technology, Inc., a rapidly growing information technology solution provider, today announced that the Principal Financial Group Foundation presented Groupware CEO and President Mike Thompson with a crystal award along with a $2,500 donation check. Denise Lewis, Regional VP of Service Principal Financial Group presented the award at the Groupware annual Sales Kickoff and all-company meeting last week in San Francisco at the Sir Francis Drake Hotel. Groupware was named to the Principal 10 Best Companies for Employee Financial Security in December 2013, earning national recognition for an outstanding commitment to employees.
Groupware invited Compass Family Services to attend its awards celebration at the Sir Francis Drake. Colm Hegarty, Director of Donor Relations at Compass Family Services, accepted the $2,500 donation from Mike Thompson and spoke about the San Francisco based non-profit’s 100 year anniversary and the organization’s mission. Compass Family Services, through its seven programs, helps homeless families and families at imminent risk for homelessness to achieve housing stability, family well-being, and self-sufficiency.
Groupware’s relationship with Compass Family Services began in September when it donated two custom-designed children’s playhouses to Compass facilities, which it teamed with Habitat for Humanity Silicon Valley (HfHSV) to build. Since November, Groupware has spearheaded a Compass Donations Drive where three teams of employees have worked to source donation items for Compass Family Services.
Mike Thompson of Groupware stated, “I am so impressed with all that our company has been able to do to contribute to the Compass Mission. We are honored to work with Compass and humbled to be part of its 100 year legacy helping to serve and empower families to overcome homelessness.”
Groupware employees raised over $2,000 in Gofundme.com contributions from employees, friends and family. Employees collected over 1500 pounds of donations in areas specified by the non-profit, including children’s clothing, household items, toiletries and other personal care items, books, school supplies, art supplies and grocery gift cards.
