Growing Up with Addiction: A Father's Story
Columbus, Ohio (PRWEB) November 17, 2014 -- At the age of 17, Harry Josephson’s son was escorted from his childhood home and shipped off to a far away boarding school with the hope of future sobriety. A drug and alcohol addict since the age of 13, Ronald had been robbed of his childhood by substance abuse. For the Josephson family, life would never be the same.
In his new book, “Escorted Away,” Harry Josephson shares the heart-wrenching story of his son’s addiction. Recalling his experiences in unflinching detail, Josephson’s story provides an inspiring example for those who are struggling with substance abuse, or who have been affected by the disease in some way.
“Drug and alcohol addiction is an epidemic in this country,” said Josephson. “I hope that my book helps parents everywhere understand the impact of addiction, and how to overcome this growing problem.”
Josephson takes readers on a journey through decades of drug and alcohol addiction with the hope that his own lessons learned can help others. The author believes his story will provide a resource for those affected by substance abuse.
“I thought he would come home cured. What a naïve view I had,” Josephson said. “As parents, we cannot control or cure our addicted loved one, so I am truly grateful for my son’s now two years of sobriety and his new life.”
