GSA Approves IMS Modular Imaging Suite
Bolingbrook, Illinois (PRWEB) October 24, 2013 -- Innovative Modular Solutions (IMS), headquartered in Bolingbrook, Illinois has been approved by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) to include a modular imaging suite on their current GSA schedule.
GSA is responsible for improving the government’s workplace by streamlining the purchase process to deliver maximum value and efficiency for government agencies. IMS, a leading provider of both temporary and permanent modular facilities, was approved in December of 2012 to provide products through GSA, and they are excited to now add a modular imaging suite to their GSA Schedule.
“We strive to provide a high level of quality and innovation to our government clients,” said Patrick Carmody, President of IMS. “The addition of the modular imaging suite to our GSA contract is just the next step in providing a portfolio of space solutions to the federal government.”
The steel and concrete imaging suite meets or exceeds the structural criteria required for vibration minimization aimed at maintaining image quality. Up to 90 percent of all the finishes, RF shielding and MEP components are installed in the factory and shipped to site in a streamlined delivery process, allowing the suite to be ready for occupancy in as little as 90 days.
The modular imaging suite on the GSA Schedule can accommodate equipment from most of the major imaging providers such as Hitachi, Philips, Siemens, and Toshiba.
“We looked at how we could provide even greater value and quality for our clients and worked hard to reduce our overall cost by as much as 20%,” commented Tom Cassity, Healthcare Building Specialist for IMS. “With budgets continually being slashed, we know we can help solve critical space issues quickly and with more flexibility than other options.”
The addition of the modular imaging suite has enabled IMS to win a government contract with Indian Health Service in Claremore, Oklahoma. The suite will be directly connected to an existing facility and will house a Toshiba Vantage 1.5 Tesla.
With the Indian Health Service modular imaging suite project underway, Danita Gipson, Government Business Development Manager for IMS, and Andrea Brand, LEED AP for IMS, would like to see more modular buildings added to the GSA schedule including outpatient, dental, and mental clinics and emergency response facilities.
“More and more of our government clients are utilizing the benefits of modular construction and recognize that IMS can solve many of the space issues they face,” commented Gipson. “As the federal government looks for innovative ways to reduce costs and streamline processes, modular construction is an excellent alternative.”

About Modular Buildings
Modular buildings utilize the resource efficient process of factory-built construction, where the initial construction occurs in a controlled manufacturing environment. Partially finished modules are transported to the project site for completion. Modular buildings can be used for both temporary and permanent applications and are appropriate for a wide variety of uses, including schools, medical facilities and commercial offices. The advantages include the speed of construction, product flexibility, financing options, and overall cost. Additionally, the modular construction process is inherently green as it offers waste minimization, material efficiency and minimal site disruption.
