GDCON 2014 has already confirmed keynote speaker Rick Gauthier, General Manager at Microsoft. As GM of Microsoft's Engineering Services IT organization, he has provided operations leadership to Microsoft for 15 years and has 23 years’ experience in the IT industry. Through his role, Rick oversees Microsoft’s IT Engineering Services Team (ESIT), providing infrastructure and support for IT Engineering and Product Group development teams across Microsoft. ESIT supported infrastructure and Source Control tools aid in the development, testing and deployment of Microsoft products and services.
Rick’s case study on February 26th will walk attendees through developing a new model for data center design and management in a services based world. Learn how development scenarios and high scale virtualization factors in to planning & designing an efficient data center.
Also presenting will be Dave Rotheroe, Sr. Technologist from Hewlett- Packard. Dave has over 27 years of service with HP and is part of the IT for Data Center Strategy and Architecture department. With extensive knowledge of modern IT architecture and products, coupled with a breadth and depth of enterprise data center facility design and operational experience, he brings a unique ability to tie the future of IT and the facility together. Dave understands where IT hardware and software technology is heading, how it will be utilized to fulfill business needs, and optimizing the data center around it to form an integrated solution.
Dave’s case study presentation will review how utilizing advanced IT Equipment, along with fully modular data centers, both deployed at Enterprise availability standards, has allowed HP to reduce energy overhead and deploy smaller chunks of capacity, faster, and cheaper per unit of capacity.
