GTA Selects Dialogic’s Next-Generation Diameter Signaling Controller for Data Roaming
Milpitas, Calif. (PRWEB) June 19, 2014 -- Dialogic Inc., the Network Fuel® company, today announced that GTA selected Dialogic’s BorderNet Diameter Services Helix to help expand its LTE roaming capabilities and secure, route and manage its growing volume of Diameter signaling traffic. GTA is proceeding with deploying the BorderNet ™ Helix in its LTE evolved packet core (EPC) to provide Diameter Edge Agent (DEA) security to help launch its 4G LTE roaming services with confidence.
GTA introduced its 4G LTE service in October 2013. Data roaming services have, thus far, been available only over GTA’s 2G and 3G networks. The introduction of the Dialogic BorderNet Helix will enable GTA to also offer high speed 4G LTE service to its roaming customers.
“We see significant spikes in our roaming traffic throughout the year since more than a million people visit our island annually,” said Robert Haulbrook, CEO for GTA. “After securing our 4G mobile core, our LTE investment will expand service quality for both our domestic and international roaming customers. We believe the BorderNet Helix can scale to meet our traffic demands more cost effectively than other market solutions, and will give us more options for connecting to other mobile operators and IPX providers to handle LTE roaming traffic.”
In addition to roaming, GTA will leverage the Helix’s flexibility for future applications, including local breakout. Helix’s policy and charging capabilities will also enable the provider to maintain full control over its service delivery in the future.
