GUARDaHEART and the PULs Cardiac Blood Test Roll out the Red Carpet to Heart Health at 2015 Emmy Event
Irvine, CA (PRWEB) September 23, 2015 -- The GUARDaHEART Foundation co-starred with the PULs Cardiac Test to raise awareness of heart disease and provide potentially life-saving medical testing on Saturday, September 20th, at a 2015 Pre-Emmy event.
Celebrities showed their support for the newly launched #GetHeartTested campaign by sharing their heart stories and getting their Cardiac Profile and Heart Age with the PULs Cardiac Test. PULs (Protein Unstable Lesion Signature) is a simple blood test that detects and diagnoses the #1 cause of disease at an early stage, to predict the likelihood of a heart attack within 5 years.
Gina McLane of GUARDaHEART commented, “When we talked with celebrities, many were shocked to learn that heart disease is the #1 cause of death and disability…and that 50% of heart attack victims have normal cholesterol testing. We’re hoping that with education and heart testing, these people can use their powerful influence to become advocates of heart health and life-saving testing.”
“I had the PULs Test, and the blood test associated with it, and my results were semi alarming,” said actor Steve Tom. “That was a wake up call for me, and I decided to take some steps to ameliorate that condition, and that’s what I did. …I was 45 pounds heavier, and had all the associated problems, like pre-diabetic, and my blood pressure was way too high. I went on a modified paleo diet… and now all those associated problems are gone.”
Other notable faces that took the PULs test and spoke with the GUARDaHEART team were Judy Tenuta, Ed Asner, and Jerry Mathers.
