They have also won three European Cups, one UEFA Super Cup, one UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup, one FIFA Club World Cup, FA Cup, UEFA Champions League, and one Intercontinental Cup.
Real Madrid won the inaugural Guinness International Champions Cup a year ago after defeating Chelsea. The tournament was previously known as the World Football Challenge in its three years of operation, Real Madrid also claimed two more titles. This year, they will be led into the tournament by Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo, Brazilian defender Marcelo, Portuguese defender Pepe and Spanish defender Sergio Ramos. These players all helped lead their respective nations to the World Cup this year and many of them instantly became fan favorites to those that were new to the sport.
Manchester United is the second most valuable sports team from any league or organization in 2013 with a value of more than $3.165 billion. The team was purchased by the late-Malcolm Glazer who was also the owner of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League. The team has a loaded roster of players that include many that competed at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil including Wayne Rooney and Jonny Evans from England, Rafael from Brazil and Robin van Persie from the Netherlands.
