Haag-Streit launch the new EyeSuite software i6.0.1.1 for LENSTAR
Harlow, Essex (PRWEB UK) 25 October 2013 -- Haag-Streit UK (HS-UK), the leading manufacturer and distributor of gold-standard optometry and ophthalmic equipment, is pleased to announce the launch of the new EyeSuite i6.0.1.1 software for the LENSTAR LS 900 biometer.
The new software boasts some exciting new features, including; the Olsen formula, which features lens thickness measurement as a key parameter for improved refractive outcomes. Olsen uses C-Constant for the calculation of Effective Lens Position (ELP). This concept makes the ELP independent of variations in the K-reading and axial length, and is accurate in all kinds of eyes, thus leading to improved IOL prediction accuracy for all patients.
The cataract penetration capability of LENSTAR has been significantly improved with the introduction of new Dense Cataract Measurement (DCM) mode. It is automatically triggered if there is no axial length after 3 measurements and continues to use all scans taken to create a composite axial length result. Clinical studies have shown an improvement of the non-measurability rate of more than 50%, maintaining, and even improving the quality of axial length measurement.
There has also been an extension to the Shammas No-History formula to prior hyperopic post-refractive patients. This extension is now available as a free upgrade for all LENSTAR users.
The launch of EyeSuite i6.0.1.1 also enables users to upgrade their LENSTAR, at an additional cost, and take advantage of the new T-Cone toric platform.

Combined with T-Cone, the user also receives full access to the new IOL toric planner with EyeSuite. The toric calculator provides the user with an intuitive tool to optimise incision location and IOL rotation in order to achieve minimum residual astigmatism.
