Hallmark Institute of Photography Employees Help Bring Holiday Cheer to Area Children
Turners Falls, Massachusetts (PRWEB) December 22, 2013 -- Employees at Hallmark Institute of Photography have just completed another in a series of efforts to give back to their community by helping those in need during this holiday season. In conjunction with The Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Department of Children and Families in the Franklin and Hampshire County area, Hallmark staff and faculty members pooled their resources to purchase gifts from “wish lists” provided by individual youth who may be estranged from their families, or living outside of their homes due to circumstances beyond their control.
According to Shelley Nicholson, who spearheaded the effort, “We are honored to have been able to help in this way. During the holidays it is even harder for children who have been separated from their families since there is so much attention given to celebrating holidays with one’s family. Our goal was simple: to help bring a little joy and excitement to these children.”
“Purchasing, wrapping and finally delivering the gifts, offered employees of Hallmark a chance to step away from their every day duties and join together to benefit this worthy cause. It is our deepest hope that our efforts will bring some holiday joy and happiness to those youth in the care of the Department of Children and Families,” remarked Ed Martin, President of Hallmark Institute of Photography.
Besides this effort, Hallmark’s students and employees have already collected and delivered canned food and other non-perishable items for the Franklin County Survival Center. They are continuing to collect toys and books for the Toys for Tots program, and invite anyone interested in helping to drop off new unwrapped toys and books at their Administrative Offices located at 241 Millers Falls Road in Turners Falls, Massachusetts.
