Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa Becomes Approved CEC Provider for Massage Therapists
TREVOSE, Penn. (PRWEB) July 15, 2016 -- For more than a decade, Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa has been at the forefront of the health and wellness spa industry. The nation’s fastest growing massage and skin care franchise, known for its superior and affordable services, is constantly working to stay ahead of the curve and implement the industry’s best practices for both its customers and employees. Now, Hand & Stone is taking those efforts to the next level as a newly approved official continuing education credit (CEC) provider for massage therapists.
“Being an approved CEC provider for massage therapists helps prove our commitment to furthering our employees’ education,” said Doug Elman, Hand & Stone’s director of massage therapist training. “Well rounded, educated massage therapists, in turn, provide our clients with top quality services that exceed their expectations.”
Hand & Stone first began providing continuing education programs to its massage therapists through an e-learning “Build Your Business” course and will soon be adding a “Code of Ethics” course to its lineup. Both courses will provide one CEC credit toward therapists’ individual state requirements. Now that the brand has been awarded as an approved CEC provider, Hand & Stone also plans to offer additional educational opportunities including a live workshop that will offer therapists 4 CEC credits.
“We’ve always prioritized our therapists’ education, so we’re thrilled to be able to now officially provide CEC’s,” said Todd Leff, president and chief executive officer of Hand & Stone. “This designation really opens up the door for Hand & Stone to grow internally as well. It’s an exciting next step as Hand & Stone continues to expand far faster than the industry’s growth averages.”
With more than 275 locations now open in the U.S. and Canada, Hand & Stone is experiencing rapid growth. The brand first opened its doors in 2004 with a mission to bring what were once considered luxury services to the middle market. In addition to massage therapy, Hand & Stone now offers a wide menu of full day spa, facial and hair removal services.
The brand is positioned for additional unparalleled growth as it enters the second half of 2016 amid higher demand than ever before for massages, facials and skin care treatments. The industry currently brings in more than $16 billion in annual revenue and is expected to continue growing annually through the end of the decade. By offering CEC’s to its therapists, Hand & Stone is also poised to bring more talented employees into its network, ensuring the brand’s success for years to come.
“Our no cost, no hassle CEC program will be an invaluable recruitment and retention tool going forward,” said Elman. “Offering workshops and online courses means that therapists won’t have to take time off or travel long distances to earn more credits. Therapists can even take our e-learning courses during their breaks simply by logging onto the Hand & Stone online portal. We want to make educational growth for our therapists as simple and easy as possible so that they continue to grow and develop as our brand expands and evolves.”
