In the past year, Smith has negotiated and finalized 55 leases for franchisees and has played the lead role in overseeing the construction and market development process for the opening of 52 new Hand & Stone locations. Prior to joining Hand & Stone in 2012 as Director of Real Estate, Smith served as Vice President of Brand Services for Saladworks, a 100-plus unit chain of fast casual salad restaurants. He has also worked for several franchise systems throughout his extensive 25-year career, including Domino's Pizza and Dunkin’ Brands Group, Inc.
