Handwrytten and Twist Out Cancer Launch Custom Greeting Cards that Give Back
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) March 11, 2015 -- Handwrytten and Twist Out Cancer announce the release of three custom greeting cards inspired by cancer survivors, previvors and caregivers who are a part of the Twist Out Cancer support community. Handwrytten is an innovative service that uses robots holding actual pens to write notes in a style that is indistinguishable from human handwriting. The app is available on both iPhones and Android mobile devices. One dollar from each sale will be donated to Twist Out Cancer to continue to support their efforts.
Twist Out Cancer was founded on the belief that when you share, the world opens up. Harnessing the power of personal connection and community, Twist Out Cancer aims to support those touched by cancer both online and in-person. Through their Brushes with Cancer program, survivors and caregivers share their "twist on cancer”, including lessons learned, fighting strategies and new perspectives. These "twists" serve as inspiration for artists to create unique pieces of artwork that are reflective of the survivor and caregivers’ journey with cancer.
Handwrytten is a service aimed at reinvigorating the nearly lost art of letter writing. Through the Handwrytten iPhone and Android apps, users can select a quality card, type a message, and select a handwriting style. Handwrytten then uses robotic handwriting machines to inscribe the message and address the envelope. Within one business day, the card is stamped and mailed on the user’s behalf.
While Handwrytten typically works with independent artisans to promote their stationery, Handwrytten has developed their own line of cards by working with Twist Out Cancer. The Twist Out Cancer cards feature artwork from Twist Out Cancer’s annual program, Brushes with Cancer, which pairs artists with those touched by cancer. Three of the program’s featured artists created the artwork for these cards. The artwork appears on the front of the card and remains blank on the inside, making them suitable for any occasion.
“Handwrytten is all about delivering impactful messages on beautiful cards,” says David Wachs, Founder and President of Handwrytten. “With our new Twist Out Cancer cards, the card is as impactful as the message. We are so honored to support the work Twist Out Cancer is doing and hope our efforts raise awareness for this worthy organization,” he adds.
“We are honored to be a part of such an important initiative. This is a tremendous opportunity to support the featured subject and artist as well as the Twist Out Cancer Community. We are incredibly excited about the partnership with Handwrytten and look forward to the continued relationship,” said Jenna Benn Shersher, Founder and Executive Director of Twist Out Cancer.
Currently, the Twist Out Cancer cards feature artwork from Dominic Pangborn, Douglas Jones, and Jacqueline Comody. All cards are on sale for five dollars, including postage and the writing of the note. One dollar from each sale benefits Twist Out Cancer. Additional cards may be added.
