Hannon Hill Releases Cascade Server 7.8 with One-click Publishing
(PRWEB) November 22, 2013 -- Hannon Hill Corporation has released Cascade Server 7.8, the latest version of its award-winning enterprise content management system. The newest version of its CMS software introduces several changes intended to improve the user experience for end users, web developers, and administrators.
One of the new user experience (“UX”) features is One-click Publishing, a way for content publishers to automatically publish related pages when a single piece of content is updated. For example, if the address is changed in the footer of a website, any pages that use that footer will also be automatically published when that change goes live.
“One-click Publishing is going to streamline the editing process because users will be able to publish different types of content across multiple sites from one location during the editing process. This has been a highly requested feature, both on our idea exchange and in the one on one feedback sessions that we conduct with our clients. This addition will certainly be a big time saver,” said Kat Liendgens, Chief Executive Officer of Hannon Hill.
Cascade Server 7.8 also introduces a number of other improvements, such as a new login screen, an updated image editor, new content previews, additional reporting options, new data definition form field types, floating submit buttons and smart version commenting.
“Cascade Server has the ability to save unlimited versions of content in the system, but requiring users to comment on each change they make can be cumbersome,” said Holly Wright, Marketing Manager at Hannon Hill. “Offering more automated ‘smart’ commenting is a way to keep track of edits, make version control more efficient, and reduce the amount of time needed for our customers to make changes to their websites.”
Another new feature of Cascade Server 7.8 is the ability of Cascade Server to keep track of a user’s history across sessions. “When users log into the newest version, Cascade Server will remember what they worked on the last time they were in the system--whether it was 5 minutes ago or six months ago,” said Hannon Hill’s Professional Services Manager, Penny Kronz. “This small change will be a very meaningful improvement for frequent users who want to log out without losing their history as well as for infrequent users who only edit a handful of pages that may be buried within several layers of folders. This actually makes the system more secure because users can log out as often as they desire without having to start from scratch each time they log back into the system.”
Hannon Hill’s customers have been notified of the release and can download and install the newest version by visiting the Cascade Server Downloads Page. For more information, please see the Cascade Server 7.8 Release Notes.
