Harbor Village Supports Judge Pollack’s Decision to Resign and seek Treatment for Alcoholism
USA (PRWEB) January 14, 2015 -- A Broward County Judge, Gisele Pollack, resigned from the bench on Jan. 6th to avoid getting fired, according to a report by the Sun Sentinel on Jan. 6th. Her resignation was caused by arriving to the bench intoxicated in May of 2014- which was the second time Judge Pollack came to work inebriated. The first occurrence happened in December of 2013. Pollack battled alcohol addiction previously, but relapsed in 2013, citing personal tragedies. Pollack made meaningful contributions to the state before resigning; including the formation of the misdemeanor drug court, which she lead. The Sun Sentinel reports that Pollack, 56, decided to resign after her appeal to remain instated was denied by the Judicial Qualifications Commission. Her attorney, Eric Schwartzreich was said his client wants to “close this chapter of her life. She hopes to continue helping and serving members of the public.”
The Sun Sentinel reports that Pollack left an alcoholism rehab center in Bougainvillea before completing her treatment. While commuting back to south Florida, Pollack got inebriated and was involved in a car accident in Plantation.
