Harsens Island Brewery to Package Craft Beer in Aluminum Bottles
Marysville, MI (PRWEB) August 17, 2016 -- Harsens Island Brewery, established in 2015, has announced the release of its seasonal craft beer lineup packaged in aluminum bottles. Craft drinkers can find these seasonal aluminum bottles starting late-August 2016.
Harsens Island Brewery was founded by family members whose history on Harsens Island traces back over 100 years. Its production brewery is located on the mainland a short distance from the island and each beer is designed to capture the relaxing spirit of island life. By packaging products in aluminum bottles, craft beer drinkers will be able to enjoy these products on beaches, in boats, on golf courses and other places where glass is prohibited. Aluminum is also more environmentally friendly than glass.
While craft beer in cans has been growing in popularity, craft beer in aluminum bottles is quite rare. In deciding to use aluminum bottles, head brewer Brian Phinney said, “aluminum is best to protect the quality of craft beer. But small-scale canning is cost-prohibitive due to limitations on can supplies and the cost of canning lines. By utilizing aluminum bottles, we can offer our customers a larger and fresher selection of seasonal craft products.”
Harsens Island Brewery’s first seasonal aluminum bottled craft beer will be its Isla Margarita Gose, a refreshing German-style sour wheat made with agave and lime. Its other seasonal aluminum bottled products will include its Isla Caliente, a stout brewed with 3 types of chiles, and its Heavens to Betsy Dunkelweizen. These products will be available at Harsens Island Brewery’s tap room as well as in limited quantities at bars and restaurants across the State of Michigan. Evolution Bottles by Aleco Containers, LLC will manufacture the bottles for state-wide distribution.
