Harvard Business School Association of Boston’s Community Action Partners to Provide Over $1.6 Million in Pro-Bono Consulting Services
Boston, MA. (PRWEB) October 26, 2015 -- In its 22nd year, Harvard Business School Association of Boston’s (HBSAB), Community Action Partners (CAP) program launched its annual pro-bono consulting project cycle with a kick-off event last week at Harvard Business School. Approximately 100 alumni volunteers will play a pivotal role in advising and assisting 13 New England non-profit organizations to reach their goals and create sustainable impact.
Community Action Partners (CAP) is a volunteer organization of HBS and Kennedy School alumni helping Boston-area non-profits apply management skills to their business challenges. Every year, Community Action Partners’ volunteers provide an average of 8,000 hours of consulting, equivalent to approximately $1.6 million in pro-bono services to worthy non-profits.
This year, CAP received and reviewed 40 applications from local non-profits seeking help with an array of challenges including strategic planning, business planning, and marketing. Thirteen non-profits were selected to work with alumni volunteer teams. Non-profits selected are: The Asperger/Autism Network, Barbara Harris Camp and Conference Center, Bridge Over Troubled Waters, Commonwealth Land Trust, Concord Museum, MSPCA-Angell, NEADS/Dogs for Deaf and Disabled Americans, Playworks, Teachers21, Team IMPACT, The Rose Kennedy Greenway, The Family Van, and uAspire.
“Our volunteers have worked on pro-bono consulting projects to assist with strategic planning, marketing assessments, operational reviews, and many other business needs for nonprofit organizations across all mission areas, including social services, youth and education, healthcare, arts and culture, and environmental causes” states Amelia Angella, Executive Director of CAP. “Our alumni offer a powerful blend of business expertise and passion for making a difference.”
