Harvey Najim Named One of San Antonio’s 2014 Legacy Leaders by the San Antonio Business Journal
San Antonio, TX (PRWEB) February 28, 2014 -- Harvey Najim, founder and executive chairman of San Antonio-based Sirius Computer Solutions, Inc., will be recognized by the San Antonio Business Journal as one of San Antonio’s 2014 Legacy Leaders. He is one of 10 men and women who are being recognized for devoting decades of their careers to San Antonio, and for their significant contributions to local business and the community.
Najim, who founded Sirius Computer Solutions in 1980, used his innovative business vision to grow the company into one of the largest IT solutions providers in the United States. He has been honored numerous times over the past decade, including Lifetime Achievement Awards from IBM (2001) and VARBusiness magazine (2006). He was inducted into the San Antonio Business Hall of Fame in 2009, and the Texas Business Hall of Fame in 2010.
In 2006, Najim founded the Harvey E. Najim Family Foundation to help children’s charitable organizations in the greater San Antonio area. Together, he and the Foundation have distributed approximately $47 million in grants and pledges to 170 different organizations.
In addition to his position as the executive chairman of Sirius, Najim serves on the board of Haven for Hope, the board of directors of The P16KPlus Education Council of Bexar County, the advisory board of SAM Ministries, and the advisory board of the UT Health Science Center in San Antonio. He is a former member of the board of directors of J.P. Morgan Chase Bank in San Antonio, and is the former chairman of the board of directors of San Antonio Federal Credit Union. He is also a former member of the boards of directors of Junior Achievement, Respite Care of San Antonio and the American Society of Computer Dealers. He continues to be recognized for his outstanding leadership in campaigning for the United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County, and is the 2014 Chairman for the United Way Campaign for San Antonio and Bexar County.
In March 2014, Najim will be profiled by the San Antonio Business Journal in a special Legacy Leaders publication, and will be honored at a luncheon on Thursday, March 13 at the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort & Spa.
