Hatchett Design Remodel Hires New Interior Designer, Eileen Byrne.
Newport News, VA (PRWEB) August 28, 2014 -- Hatchett Design Remodel welcomes Eileen Byrne as the newest member of the Hatchett design team. Having recently added to their sales staff, Hatchett decided it was time to add a new designer as well. Eileen's supervisor Jessica Altman explains, "Over the past several years, due to a lot of hard work within our company and our wonderful clients, Hatchett has grown. Eileen is a great fit for our team, and we are confident that she will help Hatchett continue to grow."
Originally from Manassas, VA, Eileen graduated from The University of Kansas School of Architecture, Design, and Planning in 2014 with a degree in Interior Design. Throughout college she was an active student member of the IIDA Mid-America Chapter, participating in events such as Color Couture and Student Mentoring Week. As part of her course work, she has held multiple internships with interior design firms in the DC Metro area.
Eileen is also a dancer and feels this experience strongly influences her designs. In her words, "I have danced since the age of three and taught for a few years during college. One of my college professors told me to use my dance background and look at space planning as if I'm choreographing a dance. It helped me to look at space in a new way. It seems strange, but looking at space planning as if it were a dance has helped me find solutions to design problems I may never have thought possible."
Hatchett Designer Jessica Altman adds, "Eileen brings a great attitude, confidence and a willingness to learn. Our industry changes on a daily basis, so the desire to learn is invaluable. We think she will be a wonderful asset to our clients, because she is very creative and will work hard to make sure the client's wants and needs are met."
Eileen had many options of where to begin her design career. She chose Hatchett Design Remodel, because they are a family. Eileen explains, "I was always told that the best interviews are the ones that resemble a friendly conversation more than a Q & A session, and that’s exactly how I felt when I interviewed here. It’s such a great group of people and the fact that Hatchett is a family business only added to the appeal. I wanted to work somewhere where my co-workers weren’t just going to be co-workers but could become a sort of 'work family', and that’s exactly what I found at Hatchett."
