Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources Approves Leading Animated Course to Meet Boating Education Law
(PRWEB) April 14, 2015 -- Boaters in Hawaii can now use BOATERexam.com, the only fully animated and narrated online boating safety course, to obtain their required state boating education certification.
The pioneering online course, which uses fully animated and narrated videos to make boating safety education accessible to boaters of all ages and experience levels, was approved last month by the Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources (DNLR). Currently approved in more than 40 states, BOATERexam.com has helped over one million boaters obtain a boater safety education certification.
“We know that learning about boating safety saves lives,” said Kerry Moher, Vice President at Fresh Air Educators, makers of BOATERexam.com. “Our goal is to make boating education as fun, engaging and convenient as possible so that people enjoy their experience and remember key information long after the course is complete.”
Hawaii’s Mandatory Boater Education Rule went into effect on November 10th, 2014. The law requires all boaters operating a vessel with a motor greater than 10 horsepower, including sailing vessels with a motor, to take an approved boating safety course and carry proof of completion. There are some exemptions to the rule, including boaters who already have a merchant mariner credential or those visiting the state for less than 60 days.
“A little bit of education and training can go a long way toward saving lives and preventing accidents,” said Edward R. Underwood, Hawaii Boating Law Administrator. “A boating safety course raises your awareness of your responsibility as a boater.”
Boaters in Hawaii can access BOATERexam.com at http://www.boaterexam.com/usa/hawaii. The course, which takes approximately three hours and ends with a 60-question online exam, is free to register and study. The course does not have to be completed in one sitting. Students pay $29.95 after passing the course to receive their Hawaii Boater Education Card.
