Haystax Technology Helps First Responders Secure Entire Week of Super Bowl 50 Events
McLean, VA and Santa Clara, CA (PRWEB) January 29, 2016 -- Haystax Technology, a leading provider of advanced analytics and cybersecurity solutions, announced today that Haystax’s California Common Operating Picture for Threat Awareness (CalCOP) platform will be used by Bay Area public safety officials for situational awareness during the weeklong series of Super Bowl 50’s public events including Super Bowl Opening Night, the Super Bowl City fan village and the NFL Experience. Super Bowl 50 marks the seventh straight year Haystax has provided real-time situational awareness during Super Bowl week.
Powered by Haystax’s Constellation platform, CalCOP is a cloud-based data sharing environment used by public safety agencies across the state of California. Bay Area public safety officials, along with the Northern California Regional Intelligence Center (NCRIC) and other state and federal partners, will be using CalCOP as the regional common operating picture.
“Advanced threat analytics are critical to both mitigating and responding to potential threats during the week leading up to a high-profile event like the Super Bowl,” said Bryan Ware, CTO, Haystax Technology. “We’re pleased that federal, state and local public safety officials have chosen Haystax Technology to provide the situational awareness capabilities required of an event of this scale.”
Deployed for the Coalition of California UASIs (CCU), CalCOP provides the ability for Urban Areas Securities Initiatives (UASIs) within California to share information statewide, sourcing existing local and regional risk management and critical infrastructure assessments and combining them with real-time information streams, to provide unparalleled situational awareness. This dynamic, real-time information stream allows public safety officials from the Bay Area to appropriately respond to threats around the stadium and in the surrounding areas, whether man-made or natural hazards.
Enhanced situational awareness is key in protecting and securing major events like Super Bowl 50, where high-profile events and venues demand an increased need for intelligence and information sharing. Super Bowl 50 is expected to bring more than a million fans into the Super Bowl City fan village, according to the San Francisco Super Bowl Host Committee. Recent attempted attacks at stadiums across the world has demonstrated the importance for public safety officials and first responders to leverage a shared operating landscape to better coordinate emergency response for large scale events like the Super Bowl.
“Maintaining a common operating picture among all public safety agencies during the days leading up to Super Bowl 50 is absolutely necessary for effective information sharing,” said Mike Sena, Director, NCRIC. “CalCOP’s ability to provide situational awareness with real-time data gives our public safety officials the information they need to quickly and effectively coordinate on emergency response to potential threats and hazards.”
In addition to helping secure seven straight years of Super Bowl events, Haystax’s software is used for other high-profile events like the Chicago, Los Angeles, and Boston Marathons; the San Francisco Bay to Breakers; the Indianapolis 500; the US Open; America’s Cup; the Emmys; and the Oscars.
