HBS Healthcare Alumni Association Names New Co-Presidents
Cambridge, MA (PRWEB) February 10, 2015 -- The Board of Directors of the Harvard Business School Healthcare Alumni Association (HBS Healthcare Alumni) has elected Jon Puz and Dr. Michael Sherman as its next Co-Presidents. Puz and Sherman assumed office on January 1, 2015, replacing Thomas Robinson, Co-Founder/Managing Partner at RobinsonButler.
Dr. Sherman, MBA ’97 is Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President for Harvard Pilgrim Health Care. He serves on the faculty of the Department of Population Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Chair of the Board of the Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute. Prior to joining Harvard Pilgrim, Dr. Sherman held leadership positions at Humana and UnitedHealthcare. Dr. Sherman holds a B.A. in Anthropology and Natural Sciences and an M.S. in Biomedical Anthropology from the University of Pennsylvania. He received his M.D. from Yale and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School where he also served as Co-President of the HBS Student Healthcare Club.
Mr. Puz, MBA ’08 is Vice President of Operations for Shields Pharmacy Services. Prior to joining Shields, Jon held leadership positions with Carol Corp. and Connance. Jon co-wrote the business plan, helped launch, and serves as an advisor for Diagnostics For All, the only venture to ever win both the HBS Business Plan Contest and the MIT $100K. Mr. Puz holds a B.S. in Computer Science and Systems Analysis from Miami University (Ohio) and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School where he served as Co-President of the Student Healthcare Club and received the Dean’s Award. An active marathoner and triathlete, Mr. Puz has also been recognized as one of Boston’s 40 Under 40.
