HCAP Partners Announces Promotion of Nicolas Lopez to Principal

Nicolas joined HCAP Partners in June 2013 and serves as a key member of the investment team, responsible for the origination and analysis of new investment opportunities, deal structuring, execution, and investment monitoring. Nicolas covers a wide spectrum of industries and is a board observer or actively involved with several of the firm’s portfolio companies, including Resolve Systems, Native Foods Café, Datashield, Protect Plus Air Holdings, Parallel 6, and Lucernex.

Prior to joining HCAP Partners, Nicolas was with Best Buy, Inc. in their corporate development group. Nicolas joined Best Buy in 2010 where he helped identify, evaluate, and support early stage investment opportunities. Before joining Best Buy, Nicolas worked at FMV Opinions as a Senior Associate and Aegis Asset Management as an investment analyst. Nicolas received his MBA from the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business and holds a BS in Business Administration from San Diego State University. He is also a CFA Charterholder and a member of the Board of Directors of ACG San Diego.
