Health Care IT Expert Dr. Eric Topol Joins H&HN Daily as a Contributor
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) February 21, 2014 -- As the world becomes more connected via smartphones and tablets, health care information technology (IT) is a critical piece of the patient care puzzle. Starting this month, one of health care IT’s most ardent advocates will share his knowledge and insights with readers of Hospitals & Health Networks (H&HN) magazine.
Eric Topol, M.D., chief academic officer of San Diego-based Scripps Health system, will join H&HN Daily as a monthly contributor, writing a blog as part of the magazine’s “Continuing the Continuum” series, which explores how hospitals and health systems are addressing the care continuum in their strategic and operational plans. Topol is also a published author, including the book “The Creative Destruction of Medicine,” which discusses the influence smartphones and social media will have on health care’s future. In addition to his duties at Scripps Health, Topol serves as chief medical advisor for AT&T.
Topol’s first column debuted on Feb. 20. He joins an already stellar lineup of health care thought leaders who regularly contribute to H&HN Daily, including Paul Keckley, M.D., who recently retired as executive director for the Deloitte Center for Health Solutions, and noted health care futurist Ian Morrison.
