Hector Rodriguez Appointed FullContact's Data Privacy Officer After Earning GDPR-Specific CIPP/E Certification
Denver, CO (PRWEB) September 14, 2017 -- FullContact today announced that Hector Rodriguez, who earned the ANSI-accredited Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), has been appointed Data Privacy Officer (DPO). A seasoned veteran in the global technology industry, Hector has spent the last 12 months assessing and planning the GDPR impact on FullContact’s customers and partners. In his role as DPO, he will consolidate all of FullContact’s privacy practices under the Customer Success organization.
The CIPP is the global standard in privacy certification. Even though Article 37 of the Global Data Privacy Regulation requires any organization processing personal data to retain an independent DPO, about a fifth (22%) of organizations still have not yet hired a data protection officer. Organizations failing GDPR compliance, which becomes enforceable May 25, 2018, could face fines up to the greater of €20 million or 4% of total worldwide annual turnover.
